Committing to society

Saint-Gobain PAM

Integrating a socially responsible attitude into all of our operations

At Saint-Gobain PAM, we take our position as a world leader in complete pipeline systems for the water cycle very seriously, by integrating a socially responsible attitude into all of our operations. As such, sustainable development is central to our corporate culture and is integrated into each and every ductile iron pipe, fitting, joint, accessory, and municipal casting product we supply.

High standard

The ISO 14001 standard allows the establishment of an environmental management system within an organisation, regardless of its size and field of activity. This certification integrates environmental issues into the company’s sustainable development strategy in order to:

  • Minimize impact on the environment;
  • Prevent incidents; and
  • Lay down plans for improvement (of the water market, for example).

With this standard, the company is committed to sustainable development by creating products that respect the environment. It is also a guarantee that projects will be monitored and measured. In France, 100% of Saint-Gobain’s sites are certified to ISO 14001 and also comply with the European Union’s REACH regulations, addressing the production and use of chemical substances, and their potential impacts on both human health and the environment.

In parallel, at in-house level, Saint-Gobain PAM meets the OHSAS 180001, or Occupational Health and Safety Management System, standard for the prevention of occupational hazards.

Did you know?

Saint-Gobain PAM has signed various conventions, including EHS, Caring for Climate, CEO Water Mandate, and Aquaplus.

The CEO Water Mandate

Saint-Gobain PAM, as a supplier of products for the water market, represents the Saint-Gobain Group at the CEO Water Mandate. A supplement to the UN Global Compact, the mandate was designed to help companies to implement and apply policies related to the sustainability of water, given that activities related to their goods and services have a significant impact on this resource.

Saint-Gobain PAM contributes to the management of this natural resource by offering complete, watertight pipeline systems that supply drinking water and recover waste water. Internally, the company limits the amount of water it uses by installing systems that recirculate water that has already been used.
This new pact focuses on the conservation of water as a resource, as part of the Millennium Development Goals set by the United Nations.
